IC 1805 - Heart Nebula

The Heart Nebula is an emission nebula located in the Cassiopeia constellation, and is approx. 7500 light-years away from our solar system. Hydrogen and oxygen gas is ionized by radiation produced from the central open star cluster.

In this image I assigned my hydrogen data to the red channel and oxygen to the green and blue channels in a HOO palette. The bronze colored areas represent the hydrogen gases with the blue being the oxygen. For the stars I captured 1 hour each from a red, green, and blue filter. All together I have over 44 hours of imaging time in this image of IC 1805, which is by far my longest integration of any target.
